Description

Installing it in the irrigation line

Fit the pressure reducer between the water supply and the irrigation section requiring lower pressure. The female thread fits a corresponding 3/4-inch male thread. Use a suitable hose coupling on the plug-in nipple.

Cleaning the mesh filter

Turn off the water supply and release the pressure before cleaning. Then remove the mesh insert and rinse it with water. Refit it only once it is clean.

Pressure and filter function

The pressure requirements of the connected drippers, hoses or nozzles determine whether 1 bar is suitable for the system. The mesh filter traps solid particles according to its mesh size. Dissolved limescale remains in the water; no softening takes place.

Is 1 bar correct for every drip irrigation system?

No. Required pressure values vary according to the hose, drippers and line length. Check your irrigation system’s requirements before using this pressure reducer.

Can I push the hose directly onto the device?

The outlet has a plug-in nipple for a suitable hose coupling. The bare hose is not fitted directly to it.

How do I clean the filter safely?

Turn off the water supply and depressurise the line. Then remove the mesh insert, rinse it with water and check it for damage. Refit it correctly and close the connection again.

Does the filter remove limescale from hard water?

It can trap solid limescale particles if they are larger than its mesh openings. Dissolved limescale is not removed; the mesh filter is not a water softener.

Does the device increase pressure from a water butt to 1 bar?

No. A pressure reducer reduces existing pressure and does not replace a pump. With low inlet pressure, it does not provide 1 bar automatically.

Can I run a lawn sprinkler in parallel?

If the sprinkler requires higher pressure, connect it through a separate branch before the pressure reducer. The inlet and distributor must be able to provide the required water flow for both branches.
