Connections and operation

S60x6 is a coarse thread. The inlet requires a matching S60x6 male thread; the outlet accepts accessories with the corresponding female thread. The metal flange is located at the tank connection. For a garden hose, select a suitable S60x6 adapter for the hose system in use.

Replacing the outlet tap on an empty tank

Fully empty and depressurise the tank before loosening the existing tap. Clean the threads and sealing surfaces, use a seal suitable for the connection design and install without strain. Then check the connection for leaks in a controlled manner. For media other than water, confirm the suitability of all wetted parts, including the seals.

Frequently asked questions

Is S60x6 the same as a 2-inch pipe thread?

No. The thread form and pitch differ. An accessory specified only as 2 inches is therefore not guaranteed to fit S60x6.

Can I connect a garden hose directly to the outlet?

The outlet has an S60x6 male thread. You need a matching adapter with a suitable hose connection or push-on nipple.

Does the IBC need to be empty when replacing the tap?

Yes. Fully empty and depressurise the tank before loosening the existing outlet tap.

Can sealing tape replace a damaged connection seal?

For a connection that seals with a gasket, use or replace the correct gasket. Sealing tape is not a substitute for damaged sealing surfaces or a defective sealing ring.
