Description

The Bradas tap connector has a 3/4-inch female thread with a removable 1/2-inch reducing ring. It connects a compatible tap to a hose coupling from a compatible click system. The body is made from orange and grey PP plastic.

Two thread sizes

For a tap with a ½-inch male thread, leave the reducing ring in place. For a ¾-inch male thread, remove it. Position the connector straight and tighten it by hand. The rubber ring seals against the end face of the tap connector; do not overtighten the plastic thread with pliers.

Click connection for the hose

Push a suitable standard garden hose coupling onto the plug until it clicks into place. The orange and grey body is made from glass-fibre-reinforced PP plastic with UV and impact resistance. Before frost, remove and empty the connector and reducing ring, then store them in a frost-free place.

Frequently asked questions

How is the connector used with a 1/2-inch tap?

Leave the 1/2-inch reducing ring in place and screw the connector hand-tight onto the matching male thread.

When should the reducing ring be removed?

For a 3/4-inch male thread, unscrew the reducing ring so that the connector fits directly onto the larger thread.

Is a sealing ring included?

Yes, a rubber ring seals the connection. If it drips, first turn off the water and check the seal and sealing surfaces for dirt, damage and correct seating. Replace a damaged seal; additional thread-sealing tape is normally not required for this flat-sealing connection.

Which hose connector is required?

A standard garden hose coupling that matches the plug. Push it on until it clicks into place. The hose diameter determines the coupling on the hose side and is not the same as the tap thread size.

How can I identify my tap thread size?

Measure the outside diameter of the tap’s male thread: a ¾-inch pipe thread measures approximately 26.4 mm, while a ½-inch pipe thread measures approximately 21 mm. The inch designation does not correspond to the directly measured diameter in inches.

Can the connector remain fitted over winter?

Remove it before the first frost, empty it completely and store it in a frost-free place. Freezing residual water can damage the body or sealing surfaces.
