Work shorts

Work shorts provide less leg coverage than long trousers. First establish whether the task, working environment and workplace rules allow this type of clothing; then compare waistbands, lengths and pockets.

Check fit and length

Measure your waist according to the size chart for the specific model. Check that the waistband and leg openings sit comfortably when you sit and squat. The term “shorts” does not tell you where the garment will end on someone of your height.

Plan pockets on a shorter leg

Compare pocket positions with the items you actually carry. Depending on the length, side pockets may sit closer to the knee than on long trousers. Test access and fit with the pockets filled; follow the model's usage instructions.

When long trousers are the better choice

If you need more body coverage, specific protection or compliance with a workplace dress rule, choose according to that requirement. Work shorts do not inherit properties documented only for a particular pair of long trousers or a specifically marked garment.
