Description

Change of direction with threaded transition

The elbow allows a fitting to be connected without tightly bending the pipe to change direction. It is suitable for appropriately designed irrigation and distribution systems.

Connection sides and dimensions

The millimetre measurement refers to the PE pipe outside diameter. The inch designation identifies the female thread for the mating component. Select both measurements separately; a larger nominal thread size does not change the stated PE compression size.

Installation

Cut the pipe straight, clean the cut edge and prepare it according to the installation instructions. Loosen the union nut, insert the pipe fully into the matching compression socket and tighten the nut according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The compression ring holds the pipe; the O-ring provides the seal.

Seal and material

The housing is made from impact-resistant, corrosion-resistant plastic. No additional thread sealant is required on the PE side. Sealing at the threaded connection depends on its design and mating component; use only sealing compounds suitable for this plastic connection.

Frequently asked questions

Which dimensions should I check before ordering?

Check the PE pipe outside diameter and the nominal thread size of the component to be connected. For example, 25 mm / ¾ inch means a compression socket for 25 mm pipe and a ¾-inch female thread.

Is a 1-inch thread exactly 25.4 mm?

The inch designation for pipe threads is a nominal size. It cannot be converted into the measured thread diameter by multiplying by 25.4. Use the mating component’s thread specification or a suitable thread table.

Does the pipe compression side also need PTFE tape?

No. The O-ring seals the pipe side. Seal the threaded connection separately according to its design; sealing material does not belong in the PE compression socket.

Can I install the elbow underground after assembly?

It is intended for underground installation. Check the assembled connection for leaks before backfilling and install the line without stress. Frost protection must suit the system and local conditions.

Will a flexible garden hose fit in the PE compression socket?

The compression socket is intended for PE irrigation pipe with the matching outside diameter. A soft garden hose needs a suitable connector.
