Irrigation fittings & connectors

An irrigation system only works with matching connections. Distinguish between threads, hose tails and coupling systems, and plan every connection point from the tap to the watering device.

Identify each connection side separately

For each connection point, note the two sides to be joined: hose, female thread, male thread or coupling. Add the exact size and system details for each. This makes it clear whether you need a direct connector or an adapter.

Do not mix coupling systems based on appearance

Garden push-fit systems, connections described as GEKA-compatible and Storz versions must be compared separately. Explicitly stated compatibility is what matters. Also check the seal and included components before putting together the complete connection.

  • Connection type on both sides
  • Nominal size and thread type
  • Required seals or fixings

Compare a complete connection

Part Required information
Threaded connection Designation and female/male thread
Hose tail Specified hose size
Coupling side System and specific size

For a branched line, the planned direction also matters at each connection. Starting from the water connection, draw all the connection points. Mark where a tap, manifold or watering device should go. Then compare only the parts that join those specific connection points. Include seals and fixings on the same list. A photograph shows the design but does not replace technical compatibility specifications.
