Description

The clear NEO Tools safety glasses have polycarbonate lenses, flexible polycarbonate temples and a UV filter 2C-1,2. They are specified as EN 166, optical class 1 and mechanical resistance level F for low-energy particle impact.

Markings and vision

The clear lens permits work with largely unchanged colour recognition. Optical class 1 indicates the optical quality. Marking F refers to the standardised low-energy particle impact test at 45 m/s; it does not indicate protection against arbitrary objects or machine hazards.

Fit and use

Flexible polycarbonate temples support adjustment. Select eye protection according to the relevant risk assessment and the product marking.

Keep the lens clean and undamaged

Remove contamination carefully according to the instructions for use. Replace scratched or damaged glasses and protect the lens from rubbing against tools during storage.

Frequently asked questions

Are these glasses sufficient for every grinding task?

No. The required protection depends on the machine, workpiece and possible particles. Select eye protection according to the risk assessment and machine instructions; additional face protection may be required.

What does the F marking mean?

It indicates the standardised test against low-energy particle impact at 45 m/s. This value is not a general guarantee of protection against all flying objects.

Are they overspecs for prescription glasses?

An overspec design is not specified. Anyone wearing prescription glasses should choose expressly designed over-glasses or suitable corrective eye protection.

Can I weld or work with lasers while wearing the UV filter?

No. Marking 2C-1,2 is not a substitute for eye protection matched to the process or laser.

Can I polish scratches out of the lens?

Replace damaged protective lenses. Grinding or polishing them yourself can alter their optical and mechanical properties.
