High-visibility trousers

High-visibility trousers must fit when walking, sitting and kneeling, and remain visible in the planned outfit. Start by checking the waist and leg length on your body, then assess the top you will wear with them. Choosing trousers that are too long with the intention of rolling them up is not a suitable sizing solution.

Compare the fit during work movements

Situation What to compare Selection outcome
Legs are too long A suitable leg length or another suitable version Do not plan to roll up high-visibility areas.
Frequent kneeling and standing up Freedom of movement at the knees, crotch and waist Trousers that pull tightly or slip down during these movements are unsuitable, even if the waist size is correct.
Long top or carried equipment The areas that are actually visible in the complete outfit Do not count covered high-visibility areas as visible.

Putting this into practice

Example: two pairs of trousers fit similarly when standing. On one pair, the hem extends over the shoe and the crotch pulls when kneeling. The other pair offers the right length and freedom of movement. Choose the version that fits; do not plan to turn up the legs or alter the high-visibility areas yourself as a correction. Then assess it together with the intended top.

The required high-visibility class applies to the documented wearing configuration. Adding trousers to a top does not automatically create a higher class. Visit the high-visibility category for planning the full outfit; standard work trousers have their own selection criteria and do not imply high-visibility performance.
