Description

Connection and use

Install the irrigation filter in the line before the drippers or sprayers being supplied. In addition to the suitable connection size, the required filtration level and the system's water flow rate are important. The inch specification describes the connection, not the size of the retained particles.

Cleaning and maintenance

Switch off the water supply or pump and depressurise the line before opening the housing. Remove the disc pack and clean it with water. Replace damaged or no longer adequately cleanable filter elements with suitable spares; if no suitable spare is available, replace the filter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know when the disc filter needs cleaning?

Dirty discs increase flow resistance. If the water volume decreases while the rest of the system is unchanged, check the filter after shutting off and depressurising it. The cleaning interval depends on how dirty the water is.

Is a 1-inch filter automatically finer than a ¾-inch filter?

No. Connection size and filtration level are separate specifications. The required filtration level depends on the requirements of the drippers or sprayers used.

Does the disc filter remove dissolved limescale?

No. The filter retains solid particles according to its filtration level. Dissolved hardness-forming substances remain in the water; the filter does not soften water or provide hygienic drinking-water treatment.

Must the disc pack be replaced after every cleaning?

An intact disc pack that has been cleaned properly can be refitted. Check the discs and housing seal before reassembly and replace damaged parts.
