The Bradas brass Y-splitter divides one water connection into two outlets. The two taps can be operated independently; when both lines are open, the available flow is divided between the outlets.

Design and connections

The splitter is made of brass and has three claw connections: one inlet connection and one connection on each outlet. Claw couplings are connected by twisting them together.

Two separately operated taps

Each outlet has its own tap, allowing the two lines to be opened or closed independently.

Flow and draining before frost

When both lines are open, the available flow is divided between the two outlets. Before the first frost, drain and remove the splitter.

Frequently asked questions

Do standard garden hose push-fit couplings connect directly?

The splitter has claw connections, not push-fit nipples. Suitable claw couplings are required; another hose system needs an appropriate adapter.

Can both outlets be opened at the same time?

Yes. Each outlet has its own tap. For simultaneous operation, the water supply must meet the requirements of both connected consumers.

Does the splitter halve the water pressure?

There is no fixed halving. Pressure and water volume at the outlets depend on the water supply, hose lengths, cross-sections and connected consumers.

How do I disconnect the claw couplings?

First close the water supply and depressurise the connected lines. Then twist the couplings against each other and separate them.

Can the splitter remain connected over winter?

Drain and remove it before frost. Even in a brass splitter, trapped water can cause damage when it freezes.
