Kit contents and installation

The kit includes the 50 m hose, 40 hose stakes, 5 elbows, 10 T-pieces, 10 plugs, one tap adapter and one valve. The hose system has a nominal size of 16 mm; the hose wall is 1 mm thick. Plugs close open line ends, T-pieces connect branches and hose stakes secure the installed runs.

Water connection and operating pressure

The tap adapter has a ½-inch female thread and the valve has a ½-inch male thread. Bradas specifies an operating pressure of 0.5 to 3.5 bar for the drip hose. If the supply pressure is higher, a suitable pressure reducer is required. With a pump, also check its delivery rate and connection compatibility. A watering timer is available separately.

How much water does the entire hose need approximately?

50 m of hose with 33 cm dripper spacing corresponds to roughly 150 drippers mathematically. At 1.6 l/h each, this gives approximately 240 litres per hour at 1 bar. The actual water volume depends, among other things, on pressure distribution, line layout and the number of drippers used.

Is 1 bar the maximum permitted operating pressure?

No. 1 bar is the reference pressure for the stated delivery of 1.6 l/h per dripper. The manufacturer specifies an operating range of 0.5 to 3.5 bar for the drip hose.

How should I lay the drip line between the plants?

Run the line along the rows to be watered and secure it with the stakes. Position the drippers so that water reaches the root area. Soil type and plant spacing affect how many line runs are appropriate.

Can a watering timer be connected?

Yes, using a timer and, if necessary, adapters whose connections and pressure range suit the installation. The timer is not included.

How do I make the kit ready for winter?

Shut off the water supply and drain the hose, valve and connections before frost. Then protect open line ends from entering dirt.
