Description

The Portwest SW10 covers the front of the torso and upper legs during welding. The leather apron measures 91 × 58 cm and is made from 1.3 mm split cowhide. Para-aramid stitching, adjustable straps and a quick-release fastening complete the design according to EN ISO 11611 Class 2 (A1).

Split cowhide with para-aramid stitching

The 1.3 mm split cowhide and para-aramid stitching form the basis of this welding apron. It is specified according to EN ISO 11611 Class 2 (A1). Selection must suit the welding process and workplace exposure.

Adjust and fasten the apron

Adjustable straps help fit the apron to the wearer’s height and the clothing worn underneath. The quick-release fastening makes it easier to put on and remove. The chest pocket has a hook-and-loop fastening.

Condition and care

Before work, check the leather, stitching, straps and fastening for damage. Clean according to the care label. Protective clothing contaminated with oil or other flammable substances must be professionally cleaned or replaced before further welding.

Frequently asked questions

Is the apron sufficient as complete welding protective clothing?

It covers part of the front of the body. Depending on the task, the arms, back and other areas require additional suitable welding protective clothing. Eye and face protection must also be selected separately.

How do I check whether the one-size apron fits?

Compare the 91 × 58 cm dimensions with the coverage required and try the apron on over work clothing. After adjusting the straps, check that it remains correctly positioned while moving.

Is Class 2 automatically suitable for every welding process?

The class is one basis for selection. The welding process, spatter exposure, working position and the rest of the protective clothing must also be considered.

What should I check on the leather and stitching?

Tears, open seams or damaged straps may impair performance. Replace a damaged apron before the next use or have it repaired according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Can I continue wearing oil-contaminated leather for welding?

Flammable contamination increases the risk when exposed to sparks. Reuse the apron only after suitable cleaning according to the manufacturer’s instructions; replace clothing that cannot be adequately cleaned.
