Identify the Storz size by the lug distance

Measure the internal distance between opposing lugs only on a clean, depressurised coupling. The following guide lists common combinations from the GEKA manufacturer's catalogue for Storz couplings. It does not indicate which sizes are available for every individual product in this category.

Check the coupling side and line side separately

After identifying the Storz size, make the second choice: hose tail, female thread, male thread, blanking cap or adapter. For a hose connection, the nominal diameter and attachment method must suit the hose. For a threaded connection, fully match the thread type, male or female configuration and size. Adapters require both system connections to be clearly identified.

Specify the seal and operating conditions

• Use the product data to establish the intended medium and material compatibility
• Check pressure or suction operation and the permitted operating range
• Select the correct seal shape and material
• Check existing sealing surfaces for dirt, damage and correct seating
• Connect, disconnect or service only when depressurised, and follow the operating instructions

A matching size does not prove suitability for drinking water, chemicals, high temperatures or a particular pressure. These approvals must be stated for the specific product. Safety-critical lines or unknown media require professional specification.
