Description

Högert water pump pliers grip pipes, sockets and other workpieces for plumbing, heating and assembly work. The spring lock is released and the jaw opening adjusted using the push button. Forged chrome vanadium steel, an induction-hardened head and plastic-coated handles form the robust construction. Available in lengths of 250, 300 and 400 mm.

Adjust the jaw opening with the push button

Press the spring lock, move the jaws to suit the workpiece and allow them to engage securely. Before turning, check that the serrated gripping surfaces are correctly positioned. Remove oil and loose dirt from the workpiece and handles first.

Distinguish pliers length from gripping range

The 250 mm version grips pipes up to 38 mm, the 300 mm version up to 50 mm and the 400 mm version up to 95 mm outside diameter. Allow space for the head and handles as well as the gripping range. Longer pliers provide more leverage but need more working space.

Protect sensitive surfaces

Serrated jaws can mark chrome, paint and soft materials. For sensitive fittings, use a suitable tool or protective pads. For nuts, a suitable spanner may be the better choice.

No. 400 mm is the length of the pliers. This version has a maximum pipe gripping range of 95 mm; at 250 mm length it is 38 mm, and at 300 mm length it is 50 mm.

Do the pliers adjust themselves to the workpiece?

The jaw opening is adjusted manually using the push-button spring lock. Before applying load, check that the lock has engaged and the jaws are seated correctly.
