Description

Construction

The union nut and compression ring are separate components. The compression ring secures the inserted PE pipe, while the O-ring on the pipe side helps provide the seal.

Size range

Eight size combinations range from 25/20 mm to 50/40 mm. Connection sizes refer to the PE pipe outside diameter; depending on the version, 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50 mm are used.

Installation

Cut the pipe end cleanly to length and deburr it. Push the pipe in to the specified insertion depth and tighten the union nut according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Use

The plastic housing is UV-resistant and corrosion-resistant and is intended for underground installation. Check the completed connection for leaks before backfilling. Protect water-carrying outdoor lines from frost, for example by completely draining seasonal systems.

Frequently asked questions

Which two measurements do I need to determine for the reduction?

Measure the outside diameters of both PE pipes. For example, a 25/20 mm version connects a 25 mm pipe to a 20 mm pipe. Both connection sizes must match.

Can I connect a soft garden hose to a PE pipe with it?

The coupler is designed for PE service pipes. A flexible garden hose needs a suitable transition fitting; its inside diameter is not the selection measurement for this PE coupler.

Should I prepare the pipe ends before installation?

Cut the ends square and clean and deburr the edges according to the installation instructions. Insert the pipe to the required depth so that the compression and seal engage correctly.

Can the coupler be reused?

After isolating and depressurising the line, the connection can be released. Before reinstalling it, check the seals, compression components and pipe ends for damage.

Does UV-resistant plastic also prevent damage from freezing water?

No. UV resistance concerns exposure to sunlight. Remaining freezing water can damage the pipe and coupler; provide suitable frost protection.
