Description

Construction and connections

The T-piece has three connections: two straight PE pipe compression connections and a lateral BSP male-threaded branch. The two PE sides connect PE pipes of the same diameter. The threaded branch is independent of them and connects to a female-threaded component.

Installation

Isolate and depressurise the pipe run before work. Insert the prepared pipe ends fully into the compression sockets and tighten the union nuts according to the installation instructions. For the threaded branch, follow the sealing design of the mating component. A fixed number of thread-tape turns is not suitable for every connection.

Variants and applications

Twelve size combinations are available for PE pipes from 20 to 50 mm and threads from ½ to 1½ inch. Examples include 20 mm / ½ inch, 32 mm / 1 inch and 50 mm / 1½ inch. The plastic fitting is suitable for appropriately designed irrigation systems and underground installation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I branch a thinner PE line directly from it?

The lateral connection is a male thread. A suitable transition fitting is required for an additional PE line. The two straight PE compression sides each have the same pipe diameter.

How does this T-piece differ from an elbow coupling?

The T-piece has three connections and creates a branch while the main line continues. An elbow has two connections and only changes the line direction.

How is a fitting installed on the lateral branch?

It needs a matching female thread. Check the thread type, nominal size and sealing design before installation. Support heavy fittings so they do not load the plastic fitting in bending.

Can the T-piece be removed later?

The compression connections can be released. Isolate and depressurise the line before loosening them. Check the pipe ends and seals before reinstalling.

Can pressure resistance be determined from the pipe diameter alone?

No. The specifications for the particular fitting version and all connected components are decisive. Also take temperature and operating conditions into account.
