Description

The Oregon Yukon is a natural-rubber chainsaw-protective boot for wet and dirty working areas. It provides Class 3 cut protection at 28 m/s according to EN ISO 17249, SB E SRA classification, a steel toe cap with 200 J test energy, a shock-absorbing heel and an oil-resistant SRA sole. The soft cotton lining completes the specification.

Cut and toe protection

Class 3 protection according to EN ISO 17249 relates to a test speed of 28 m/s. The steel toe cap is subjected to 200 J impact energy during the standard test. Both figures describe test conditions; they do not guarantee protection against every contact with a saw or every crushing injury.

Shaft and sole

The shaft is made from natural rubber and is suitable for wet, muddy and rainy conditions. The rubber sole is slip-resistant according to SRA and oil-resistant. A shock-absorbing heel completes the specification.

Lining and care

The cotton lining absorbs moisture. Rinse or wipe off dirt and leave the opened boot to air-dry. The lining should dry completely; avoid direct heat.

Frequently asked questions

What does Class 3 cut protection mean on the Yukon?

Class 3 according to EN ISO 17249 is assigned to a test speed of 28 m/s. The hazard, saw used and manufacturer’s instructions are decisive when selecting footwear.

What do SB, E and SRA mean?

SB denotes basic toe-cap protection, E energy absorption in the heel area, and SRA slip resistance on ceramic tiles with soap solution.

Are these rubber boots suitable for wet woodland?

Yes. The natural-rubber shaft is suitable for wet, muddy and rainy working conditions.

What does 200 J mean for the steel toe cap?

200 J denotes the impact energy used in the standard test for the steel toe cap. This test value is not a guarantee for a particular accident scenario.

Why can rubber boots feel damp inside?

As well as water entering from above, perspiration may be the cause. Natural rubber allows only limited water vapour to escape. Allow the cotton lining between uses to dry completely and change into dry socks when necessary.
