Description

The Climax elastic tool tether secures suitable hand tools during work at height. A carabiner connects the polyester band to a secure attachment point; tools with a hole or eyelet can be attached directly. The band extends from 93 to 118 cm, supporting freedom of movement. If a tool is dropped, it is slowed elastically.

Attachment and freedom of movement

Attach the tether to a suitable attachment point intended for this purpose. The connection to the tool must be secured against slipping; an arbitrary hole or belt loop is not automatically sufficient. Choose the band routing and fall zone so that a caught tool cannot strike anyone.

Observe the load limit

The permitted tool mass is no more than 4 kg. Check the band, carabiner and attachment points before every use. After catching a tool, inspect the tether according to the manufacturer's instructions before using it again. The elastic design can reduce the impact, but does not eliminate a jerk.

Frequently asked questions

How heavy may the tool be?

The maximum load is 4 kg.

How is the tool attached?

Use only a tool attachment point suitable for tethering. The connection must be closed and must not be able to slip off the tool. If there is no suitable attachment point, an appropriate attachment solution is required.

How long is the band?

The band is 93 cm long and can stretch elastically to 118 cm.

Where can the tether be attached?

To an attachment point intended by the system and suitable for the tool's mass. When working on a harness, tool tethers must not be confused with attachment points for personal fall protection.

Does the band reduce the impact if a tool is dropped?

Yes. The elastic polyester band dampens the movement and slows the tool.

Can I use this band as fall protection?

No. It is intended solely for securing tools up to 4 kg and is not a lanyard for personal fall protection.
