Bayonet connection and visor

The bayonet mount connects the mask to suitable filters from the Climax 757 and 757-N ranges. A different bayonet system is not automatically compatible. The filter type must suit the contaminant and its concentration. The scratch-resistant panoramic visor has optical class 1 and impact-resistance marking F according to EN 166:2001.

Construction and weight

The flexible sealing lip must contact the face continuously. Tighten the straps evenly and perform the seal check according to the manufacturer’s instructions before every use. Beards, hair or unsuitable spectacle arms in the sealing area can cause leaks.

Manufacturer limits of the Climax 742

The manufacturer excludes use above 1,000 ppm or ten times the workplace exposure limit. The possibly stricter limits of the selected filter combination and the workplace risk assessment also apply. These upper limits are not blanket approval for arbitrary gases or vapours.

Which filters fit this full-face respirator?

The Climax 742 uses side bayonet connections for Climax 757 and 757-N. Select the filter type based on the hazardous substance, concentration and working conditions; the connection alone does not determine protection.

What does mask class 1 mean?

Class 1 identifies a full-face mask for light-duty use. The design class is not an FFP class and alone specifies neither the permitted contaminant concentration nor the service duration.

What do optical class 1 and F mean for the visor?

Optical class 1 concerns optical quality. F indicates tested impact resistance against particles with low impact energy. These two details must not be confused with the filter’s respiratory protection.

Can I use the mask in an oxygen-deficient atmosphere?

No. The mask does not supply oxygen. The manufacturer requires more than 19.5% oxygen by volume. This filter mask is unsuitable for an unknown atmosphere or an immediate danger to life and health.

How do I clean the mask after use?

Remove the filter before cleaning and do not wash it. Clean the mask parts according to the manufacturer’s instructions with a suitable mild cleaner, rinse carefully and dry without direct heat. Check the sealing lip, valves, visor and straps before the next use.

Can I wear the full-face mask with a beard?

There must be no facial hair in the sealing-line area. Even short stubble can impair the seal. Tightening the harness firmly cannot reliably compensate for a leaking seal.
