Choose the right width

Choose the width according to the area to be covered and the space along the paint edge. 30 mm is the narrowest version and 48 mm the widest. When also securing masking film, enough tape must adhere to the surface.

For exterior work and sunlight

The UV-resistant tape is intended for painting work on sun-exposed surfaces. Leave it applied only for as long as necessary and follow the application time stated on the packaging. UV resistance does not mean unlimited removability.

Surfaces and interior work

The tape can also be used indoors. Test it first in an inconspicuous area on sensitive or freshly coated surfaces.

Can I apply the tape to a freshly painted frame?

Fresh coatings must have cured sufficiently. Follow the coating manufacturer’s approvals and test adhesion and removability first in an inconspicuous area.

How can I stop paint running under the edge?

Prepare the surface so it is clean, dry and free from dust. Press down the tape edge evenly and do not apply too much paint against the edge. Rough or uneven surfaces may allow paint through despite masking.

Can I leave the tape in the sun for several weeks?

UV resistance does not specify a particular number of weeks. Follow the permitted application time on the packaging and remove the tape promptly after completing the work.

How do I remove the masking tape gently?

Peel it off slowly and evenly. Match the timing to the paint system used. If there is resistance or paint is adhering, continue carefully rather than tearing the tape off abruptly.
