Three-layer construction for garden watering

The black inner layer blocks light and can therefore reduce algae formation inside the hose. The synthetic-fibre cross braid distributes strain through the hose and supports its shape. On the outside, a soft yellow PVC layer protects the hose during everyday use.

Connection and choice of length

Fit suitable hose pieces for 1/2-inch garden hoses to the hose end for connection. The hose is clamped in the coupling; the free hose end does not itself form a click connection. Measure the required length along the actual route and allow some extra length for movement.

Storage and care

Drain the hose completely before storage and coil it up. Frost-free storage, preferably protected from continuous direct sunlight, helps preserve the material and connections. Avoid kinks.

Frequently asked questions

How do I determine the right hose length?

Measure the route from the tap to the furthest watering point, including corners and obstacles. Allow some extra length for handling. An unnecessarily long line increases pressure loss as water flows through it.

Can I click the hose directly onto a push-fit nipple?

A compatible hose piece must first be fitted to the hose end. Its hose connection must be designed for 1/2-inch hoses; the coupling can then be connected to the compatible push-fit nipple.

Does the hose increase the water pressure to 8 bar?

No. 8 bar is the hose's working pressure. The hose does not generate pressure; pressure losses occur along the line while water is flowing. Also observe the pressure limits of the connected couplings and devices.

Can I repair one leaking section?

Close the water supply and cut out the damaged section. Connect the two intact ends with a suitable 1/2-inch hose repair connector. Replace the hose if it has extensive cracks or brittle material.

Does the black inner layer prevent all algae growth?

The light-blocking inner layer reduces the conditions that promote algae formation. It does not replace cleaning or keep standing water permanently clean. Let the water drain after use and drain the hose completely before frost.
