Description

The Bradas SPRINT, with a 1¼-inch nominal size and approximately 32 mm internal diameter, is a water hose for garden irrigation and filling pools and tanks. Its large cross-section reduces pressure loss compared with thinner hoses under comparable conditions. It has three layers and is available in 25 or 50 m lengths. With pumps, it is used on the delivery side.

Construction and water transport

The black PVC inner layer reduces light transmission and therefore the conditions that encourage algae growth. A synthetic-fibre reinforcement supports the hose, while the transparent green soft-PVC outer layer forms the outer cover. UV resistance does not replace protected storage; the anti-algae design is not a drinking-water or germ-free guarantee.

For stationary runs

Lay the hose in generous curves and do not kink or twist it. It is particularly suitable for runs that are moved infrequently. Maximum pressure is 7 bar; the pump, connections and hose must suit the actual operating conditions. Avoid pressure surges and strongly heated hoses.

It is suitable for garden irrigation and filling pools and tanks when larger volumes of water need to be transported. The actual flow rate depends on the pump, pressure, hose length, height difference and connections.

Is the hose kink- and twist-resistant?

No. Lay the SPRINT without sharp kinks or twists and form generous curves when coiling it. Another hose construction may be more suitable for frequently moved hose runs.

Which connection do I need?

The connection requires hose fittings and connectors for 1 1/4 inch. Standard 1/2 or 3/4-inch couplings do not fit directly.

Which lengths are available?

The hose is available in 25 m and 50 m lengths.

Can I use the hose on the suction side of a pump?

A pressure-resistant garden hose is not automatically suitable for negative pressure. Use the SPRINT on the delivery side. On the suction side, use a pump-suitable suction hose reinforced against collapse.

How should I store the hose over winter?

Drain it completely, coil it loosely in large curves and store it frost-free and protected from light. Before the next use, check the connections and hose wall for damage.
