Use the 20 m water level to transfer a reference height to a second measuring point, even around a corner. Water connects the two transparent measuring tubes and settles at the same horizontal level when the ends are open. The hose water level requires neither electricity nor a laser.

Transfer one height to two points

Fill the hose with water and remove air bubbles. Hold both measuring tubes vertically and open at the top while measuring. Align the water level in the first tube with the reference height. Once the water has settled, mark the water level on the second tube.

Measuring tubes with millimetre scales

The transparent measuring tubes are each 220 mm long. Their scales extend over 150 mm and assist with reading. Sealing plugs close the ends when not measuring.

Work without a direct line of sight

The 20 m hose can be routed around obstacles. Lay it without kinks and ensure that water can flow freely between both ends.

How do I transfer a height with the water level?

Align the settled water level in one vertical measuring tube with the reference height. The water level in the second vertical tube will then be at the same height and can be marked there. Both ends must be open while measuring.

Do I need a line of sight between the measuring points?

No. The hose can be routed around a corner or obstacle, provided it is long enough and laid without kinks.

Why must air bubbles be removed?

Air bubbles can interrupt the connection between the water columns and distort the measurement. Vent the hose before taking a reading.

How long are the measuring tubes and their scales?

The measuring tubes are 220 mm long. The millimetre scale on each extends over 150 mm.
