Description

The Oregon Yukon chainsaw-protective boots in cowhide feature a PU sole and a metal toe cap. Class 1 protection according to EN ISO 17249 corresponds to a test speed of 20 m/s. The water-repellent upper and lacing with metal hooks complete the specification.

Material and fastening

The cowhide upper is water-repellent. Lacing with metal hooks can be adjusted around the foot and shaft. The PU outsole has SRC classification for tested slip resistance.

Protective and safety properties

The classification is S2 A E WRU FO SRC. A denotes antistatic properties, E energy absorption in the heel area, and WRU limited water absorption and water penetration of the upper. FO concerns fuel resistance of the outsole. The classifications relate to different tests of the footwear and its components.

Care and sizes

Remove dirt with a soft brush. After exposure to moisture, dry at room temperature and use only suitable leather-care products recommended by the manufacturer. Try on the boots in sizes 39 to 48 with the intended work socks.

Frequently asked questions

Are the Yukon leather boots completely waterproof?

WRU concerns water absorption and water penetration of the upper. This classification does not confirm water resistance of the entire boot as an additional WR test would.

Does S2 automatically include a penetration-resistant midsole?

No. S2 alone does not indicate additional penetration protection. If this property is required at work, check the footwear classification and approval specifically.

Does Class 1 mean protection against every contact at 20 m/s?

No. 20 m/s relates to the standard test for Class 1 cut protection. Consider the specific hazard and the manufacturer’s instructions when selecting and using the boots.

Can I use the antistatic boots as insulating footwear?

No. Antistatic properties are not electrical insulation. Suitable footwear specifically intended for the relevant electrical hazards is required.

How should I care for the leather boots after wet use?

Remove dirt and allow the boots to dry at room temperature. Avoid direct heat from radiators. If necessary, use a care product suitable for the leather and the manufacturer’s instructions.
