Description

The Högert piston ring compressor band compresses piston rings already fitted to a piston so that the piston can be inserted into the cylinder bore. The flexible SK5 spring steel band is adjusted using a locking tensioning mechanism. Choose between 75, 100 and 150 mm band heights and the corresponding diameter range.

Distinguish diameter range from band height

The 75 mm-high band is intended for piston diameters of 50–125 mm. The 100 and 150 mm-high versions each cover 90–175 mm. The band height must cover the complete ring zone; it is not a measure of piston diameter.

Compress fitted piston rings

The band surrounds rings already fitted to the piston for insertion into the cylinder. It is not a tool for expanding rings or removing them from piston grooves.

Check the fit before insertion

The diameter, ring arrangement and access to the cylinder bore must match the selected version. Observe the engine’s installation instructions. If the piston cannot be inserted in a controlled manner, investigate the cause and do not continue by force.

Can I remove piston rings from the piston with it?

Is specifying a car or motorcycle engine enough to choose one?

No. Piston diameter, ring zone and accessibility are decisive. The installation route for the particular engine must also allow the compressor band to be used.
