The Bradas PE ball valve connects a PE irrigation distribution pipe to an existing female thread and allows the water flow to be shut off. The lever opens or closes the full passage with a 90° turn.

Connections

Insert the PE pipe into the compression connection and secure it with the union nut. The male thread is intended for existing female threads on pumps, valve boxes or water connections.

Operation and installation

A quarter turn of the lever opens or closes the water flow. The sealing method on the threaded side must suit the mating connection. When installed underground, a valve box keeps the lever accessible for operation and inspection.

Preparing the pipe end and checking the connection

Choose the PE pipe outside diameter to match the version. Cut the pipe squarely, deburr it and clean the sealing area. Insert the pipe and seal according to the installation instructions; the union nut secures the connection. Carry out a leak test before burying it.

Which combination fits my system?

The intended combinations are 20 mm × 1/2 inch, 25 mm × 3/4 inch or 32 mm × 1 inch.

What is the difference between a male and female thread?

The male thread is on the outside and screws into an existing female thread. A female thread receives a male thread.

Do I need sealant on the thread?

The PE side is sealed by its own seal. For the threaded side, sealing depends on the mating connection. Use only a sealing method suitable and intended for the plastic connection; do not apply hemp or thread tape automatically in addition.

Can the ball valve be installed underground?

Yes. The plastic is corrosion-resistant. A valve box makes it easier to access the lever later.

Which connection measurements are important when choosing?

On the PE side, the pipe outside diameter matters. On the threaded side, the thread size and connection type must match the mating part. Nominal inch sizes do not directly correspond to a thread diameter measured in millimetres.
