Description

The grey Bradas bungee cord has an elastic rubber core and braided textile covering. The 50 m roll can be cut to suitable lengths and is suitable for tensioning tarpaulins and for light-duty securing work.

Material and dimensions

The bungee cord has a rubber core with braided textile covering. It has a diameter of 8 mm, a roll length of 50 m and is grey. The roll can be cut to the required length.

Stretch and use

The stated stretch of up to 100% means an extension to up to twice the original length. This does not specify a permitted tensile load or a requirement for continuous tension. Select the cord and suitable end fittings according to the application; do not continue using damaged sections.

Frequently asked questions

What does 100% stretch mean for a 1 m piece?

With 100% extension, 1 m of original length becomes a total length of 2 m. The specification does not state a tensile load and is not a recommendation to keep the cord stretched this far.

Can I make short tarpaulin tensioners from it?

The 50 m roll can be cut to length and combined with suitable hooks or clips. End fittings must suit the 8 mm cord and the application; follow their installation instructions.

Are hooks included?

The product supplied is one 50 m roll of bungee cord. Suitable hooks or clips must be selected separately.

May I use the cord as a lashing strap for securing loads?

The elastic cord is intended for tensioning and securing tarpaulins. Use suitable load-securing equipment; diameter and stretch do not establish approval for this load.

What is important when releasing a tensioned cord?

A tensioned rubber cord can recoil. Release the tension in a controlled manner and keep your body and face outside the possible recoil path.
