Description

Reduce the water pressure upstream of an irrigation line with the Bradas pressure reducer. Two versions are available, with an outlet pressure of 0.7 or 1 bar. Both have a ¾-inch female inlet and a ¾-inch male outlet.

Pressure levels and variants

Version DSA8410 has an outlet pressure of 0.7 bar; DSA8415 has 1 bar. For porous and drip hoses, select the version according to the required operating pressure of the hose. The correct pressure level cannot be determined from system length or size alone.

Connection and installation

Install the pressure reducer upstream of the irrigation system, for example after a tap or irrigation timer with compatible connections. Observe the flow direction and markings on the component. The permitted inlet pressure and required flow rate must suit the system.

Feature of the 0.7-bar version

For DSA8410, Bradas describes a pressure-equalisation hole from which a small amount of water may escape. This information applies to the 0.7-bar version. If more water escapes or connections leak, shut off the water supply and investigate the cause.

Frequently asked questions

Can I adjust the outlet pressure between 0.7 and 1 bar?

The two values belong to separate versions: DSA8410 with 0.7 bar and DSA8415 with 1 bar. Select the version according to the operating data of the connected irrigation system.

Will the pressure reducer fit behind my irrigation timer?

The inlet has a ¾-inch female thread. If the timer has a matching male thread, connection is generally possible. Also compare the permitted pressure and flow values and the installation instructions for both components.

Does a pressure reducer automatically water all plants equally?

Pressure reduction alone does not balance every system. Hose length, height differences, pipe distribution and the drippers used continue to affect water delivery.

Is water at the small housing hole a defect?

For DSA8410 at 0.7 bar, Bradas states that a small amount of water may escape from the pressure-equalisation hole. Investigate greater leakage or leaking threaded connections separately; do not apply this statement generally to other versions.

How do I prepare the component for winter?

Shut off the water supply, drain the pressure reducer to protect it from frost and store it dry. Winterise connected lines and irrigation timers according to their instructions.
