The Högert HT1P102 wire stripper removes insulation from wires with conductor cross-sections of 0.5 to 6.0 mm² and works on RG6 and RG59 coaxial cables. The blade is made from SK5 steel. At 122 mm long, with a profiled two-component handle, this compact cable stripper is easy to carry for installation and assembly work.

Strip cables and check the conductors

Select the tool's working range to suit the cable and first practise on a spare piece. Remove only the insulation; strands, inner conductors and screens must not be cut unintentionally. Carefully check the stripped section before connecting it.

Prepare coaxial cables for connector fitting

For RG6 and RG59, follow the strip lengths required by the particular connector. Cable compatibility alone does not determine how much inner conductor, insulation and screen must be exposed. Screen wires must not make unwanted contact with the inner conductor during connection.

Work only on de-energised cables

Before working, professionally isolate the cables from the power supply and verify that they are de-energised. The handle is for handling and is not evidence of insulation suitable for live working. Keep the blade and working areas clean and do not continue using damaged cutting edges.

Frequently asked questions

Is 6 mm² the outside diameter of the cable?

No. mm² denotes the conductor cross-sectional area. The outside diameter of the complete cable and its insulation are separate measurements.

Can I also use it on aerial or satellite cables?

The HT1P102 is intended for RG6 and RG59 coaxial cables. Check the cable type and the connector's required strip lengths before working.

What should I do if individual strands have been cut?

Professionally remove the damaged section and strip the cable again. Do not simply hide cut strands under the terminal.

Is the handle insulated for live working?

This stripper has no approval here for live working. Work only on cables that have been professionally isolated from the power supply and tested.
