Rope brake and length adjuster

The aluminium length adjuster has a sliding ergonomic handle and can be positioned on the rope. Under load, the rope brake locks automatically and prevents further slipping.

Aluminium connectors

The base connector has a 20 mm opening and an automatic Twist-Lock safety mechanism requiring two opening movements. The end connector opens to 22 mm and has a rear locking lever. Both connectors have a Key-Lock closure and a minimum strength of 25 kN in accordance with EN 362.

Rope, lengths and use

Each length variant can be adjusted from 0.6 m up to its own maximum length. The 2 m version weighs 740 g, the 3 m version 850 g, the 4 m version 950 g, the 5 m version 1,050 g and the 10 m version 1,570 g. Choose the version according to the intended restraint or positioning system.

Work positioning lanyard for a compatible restraint system

The Gronked is intended for restraint or work positioning under EN 358:2018. It does not arrest a free fall. Where there is a fall hazard, an additional suitable fall-arrest system is required. The harness, anchor point and lanyard must be compatible according to their respective instructions for use.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the Gronked to arrest a fall?

No. The Gronked is intended for restraint and work positioning. It does not contain an energy absorber for arresting a free fall. Where a fall is possible, a suitable additional fall-arrest system must be provided.

Can every variant be extended to 10 m?

No. Each variant ranges from 0.6 m to the ordered length. For example, the 3 m version can be adjusted up to 3 m; the 10 m version is required for lengths up to 10 m.

Does the 150 kg limit refer only to body weight?

The 150 kg refers to the total weight including clothing, tools and equipment being worn or carried. Also observe the load limits of the other system components.

Will the connectors fit every harness?

The base connector opens to 20 mm and the end connector to 22 mm. In addition to the opening width, the connection type, intended restraint attachment points and load direction must be suitable. EN 361 marking on the harness alone does not confirm this combination.

How much do the individual lengths weigh?

The 2 m version weighs 740 g, the 3 m version 850 g, the 4 m version 950 g, the 5 m version 1,050 g and the 10 m version 1,570 g. This allows the required reach to be weighed against the additional weight.

What does Key-Lock mean on the connectors?

Key-Lock refers to an interlocking closure shape without a protruding hook nose. It makes clipping in and out easier. The base connector is locked by the Twist-Lock, while the end connector is locked by the locking lever.
