Always read capacity together with diameter

A statement such as “holds 50 metres of hose” is only meaningful alongside the intended hose diameter. Compare the full capacity specifications with your existing hose. Also check whether a connecting hose to the tap and connectors are included or need to be bought separately.

Check the transport route and location

A trolley is moved between storage and the point of use, while a reel may be carried or used in a fixed location. Compare the handle, design and dimensions with your routes and available storage space. Narrow passages, steps and the space beside the water connection therefore belong on your comparison list.

Choose a standalone item or a set

For a set, also check hose length, diameter and connections. For an empty trolley or reel, compatibility with your existing hose is what matters. Winter storage depends on the specific design and its manufacturer's instructions; a robust build alone does not establish suitability for freezing conditions.
