Description

The TAMS compressed air hose connects a compressor to compatible pneumatic equipment. One end has a quick coupling and the other a plug nipple, both with the DN 7.2 profile. The flexible, UV-resistant, cadmium-free hose is available in 10 and 15 m lengths. Operating pressure is 20 bar at 20 °C.

Choosing the coupling profile and diameter

DN 7.2 describes the connection profile. The coupling and mating part must be compatible. Choose the hose internal diameter separately according to the required airflow and line length.

Providing sufficient air to the tool

A longer or narrower hose can increase pressure loss. Consider the tool's air requirement and recommended hose diameter. A general diameter choice based only on the tool type is not sufficient.

Observing the permitted operating pressure

20 bar applies at 20 °C. The 60 bar burst pressure is not a permitted operating pressure. For the complete system, the component with the lowest permitted load is decisive. Do not continue using damaged hoses or couplings.

Frequently asked questions

Does DN 7.2 mean a hose with a 7.2 mm internal diameter?

No. DN 7.2 identifies the coupling profile. The hose internal diameter is a separate measurement.

Which length is suitable for a workshop?

Measure the distance from the compressor to the work area, including room to move. The shortest suitable line avoids unnecessary hose length; 15 m offers more reach than 10 m.

Why does my impact wrench lose power despite having a compatible coupling?

As well as compressor output and pressure settings, hose length, internal diameter and restrictions affect the available airflow. Compare the tool requirements with the complete air supply.

May I briefly operate the hose at 60 bar?

No. 60 bar is the burst pressure at 20 °C. During operation, the maximum permitted operating pressure under the relevant conditions applies.

What is important before disconnecting the connection?

Switch off the compressed air supply and depressurise the connection according to the coupling system instructions. Hold the hose while disconnecting it so that it cannot whip out of control.
