In one place or on the move?
| Activity | How to choose | What to rule out |
|---|---|---|
| Activity in a fixed location | Note the space required, number of people and storage after the activity | An item without a suitable place to use or store it is not an option. |
| Outing involving a carrying distance | Plan only functions needed on the move; limit packed size and total quantity | Leave behind equipment that is useful only at the starting point or cannot be transported. |
| Sporting or specialised activity | Go directly to the relevant specialist category and use its dimensions or requirements | A broad leisure label does not replace suitability for a specific sport or activity. |
| Taking drinks or food | Compare required capacity, closure, cleaning and transport together | Rule out extra capacity if the container or weight does not suit the route. |
Example: an afternoon in the park without a vehicle on site
The walk from the car park takes a few minutes and everything must be carried. Note the number of people, length of stay and amount of drink needed. Only then choose a container whose capacity and portability work together. For a planned sporting activity, go to Sport and outdoor products; if you only need drinks and food, Drinkware and kitchenware offers a more direct route. Rule out equipment without a specific purpose or a manageable way to carry it.
Other specialist categories
For a specifically planned outdoor activity, explore Outdoor and hunting accessories. The broader Sport, leisure and hobbies category is a useful starting point if you still need to decide on the activity. Weather, safety and material properties apply only as stated for the specific version.
