Description

The digital Bradas White Line pH meter measures the pH value of liquids across a range of 0.00 to 14.00 pH. It displays readings at a resolution of 0.01 pH and has automatic temperature compensation for 0 to 50 °C. The set includes four LR44 batteries, a screwdriver and two calibration solutions with pH 4.01 and pH 6.86.

Measuring liquids

Remove the protective cap and immerse the electrode in the sample. Do not allow the display to enter the liquid. Stir carefully for a short time and read the value once the display has stabilised.

Calibration and temperature compensation

The display changes in 0.01 pH increments; the stated measurement accuracy is ±0.1 pH. These are different specifications. Automatic temperature compensation accounts for the effect of temperature on electrode measurement between 0 and 50 °C. It does not convert every sample to a temperature-independent pH value.

Frequently asked questions

How is the pH meter calibrated?

Rinse the electrode with distilled water. Immerse it in the pH 6.86 calibration solution, allow the display to stabilise and adjust it using the adjustment screw and supplied screwdriver. After rinsing again, check it with the pH 4.01 solution. Follow the device instructions and the solution’s temperature-dependent target value.

How often is calibration required?

The manufacturer specifies calibration before each use, particularly after extended storage or demanding measurement conditions.

Can the electrode be pushed directly into soil?

No. The pH pen measures liquids. For soil measurements, prepare an aqueous soil sample using a suitable method; the mixing ratio and preparation affect the result.

How is the glass electrode cleaned?

Rinse it with distilled water after measuring. Carefully dab away adhering water without rubbing the glass surface. Replace the protective cap and follow the storage instructions in the device manual.

Does a two-decimal display mean an accuracy of 0.01 pH?

No. 0.01 pH is the display resolution. The stated measurement accuracy is ±0.1 pH; calibration and electrode condition affect practical measurement quality.
