Compressed air & gas accessories

Compressed air systems and systems for other gases must be planned separately. First choose the category for the explicitly named medium, and do not assume that a compressed air coupling, hose or operating specification applies to another gas. Every component in a system must be specified for the medium, operating conditions and connection.

Choose by system and function

Situation Where to start Key specifications
Connecting an existing compressed air system Compressed air couplings & connectors Compressed air as the medium, coupling system, connection type, nominal bore and operating range
Regulating compressed air or replacing an industrial hose Pressure regulators & industrial hoses Medium, inlet and outlet ranges, hose specifications and connections
Finding equipment or accessories for an explicitly named gas Compressed air & gas equipment Gas name, intended application, supply, interfaces and included components

Example: extending an existing compressed air line

Photograph the rating plates and note compressed air as the medium, the operating specifications and the full connection designations at the source and the equipment. Draw the regulator, hose and couplings in sequence. For each position, look only for components whose manufacturer specifications cover every point you have noted. An adapter that physically fits does not establish either the permitted operating range or suitability for another gas.

Check included components and connection points

The coupling, mating connector, seal, hose and clamp may be separate items. Compare the included components with your sketch and treat each connection point as a separate selection task. For other gases or safety-critical installations, only the applicable system documentation and planning, installation and testing by the responsible qualified professionals are authoritative.
