Description

The clear Högert Sauer safety glasses protect the eyes when working with small solid particles, for example during drilling, sawing or grinding. Their shaped polycarbonate lens provides side coverage. Version HT5K012 combines optical class 1, mechanical strength F and a UV385 filter.

Clear vision with side coverage

The transparent polycarbonate lens has a scratch-resistant coating. The UV filter carries the 2C marking for good colour recognition; the shade number is 1.2. The arms are also made from polycarbonate and have ventilation channels.

Mechanical strength F for low-energy impact

The safety glasses comply with EN 166:2001. F indicates a standardised low-energy impact test at 45 m/s. Selection must take account of the hazard and the marking of the complete glasses. The clear lens is not welding protection.

Fit and care for everyday work

Before use, check that the glasses fit securely and that the lens is undamaged. An adjustable cord with rubber ends is included. Clean with a mild soap solution and water at approximately 20 °C, then store the glasses in a protected place.

Frequently asked questions

Are the glasses suitable for welding?

No. The clear lens with shade number 1.2 is not a welding filter. Suitable eye protection for welding work is required.

What does the F marking mean?

It indicates resistance to low-energy impact particles in the standardised test at 45 m/s. It is not approval for particles of any weight or speed.

Can the lens still become scratched despite the coating?

Yes. The coating reduces scratching but does not make the surface immune to abrasive dirt. Clean the lens carefully while damp and replace damaged glasses.

Do the safety glasses replace my prescription glasses?

No. Optical class 1 describes the optical quality of the protective lens, not correction of defective vision. When working with visual aids, choose suitable eye protection that fits correctly.
