Description

The Högert aluminium spirit level checks horizontal and vertical alignment during installation, renovation and construction work. The vertical view makes it easier to read the vial from an additional viewing direction. Eight lengths are available: 23, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150 and 200 cm. The short 23 cm version has two vials; the larger versions also have a 45° vial.

Vial configuration to suit the length

The 23 cm spirit level checks horizontal and vertical alignment with two vials. Versions from 40 to 200 cm have three vials for 0°, 45° and 90°. A 45° vial indicates a fixed angle and does not replace an adjustable angle or gradient measurement.

Choose the contact surface and length

Short spirit levels suit small components and confined areas. Longer versions bridge greater distances and make it easier to align frames, posts and long edges. The measuring edge must sit cleanly and suitably against the component.

Check before important measurements

Remove mortar, dust and other residue from the contact surface. After a fall or if the readings seem questionable, perform a reversal test: measure at the same point, turn the spirit level 180° in the same plane and place it down again. Resolve differing readings before continuing.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 23 cm version also have a 45° vial?

No. The short version has two vials for horizontal and vertical alignment. The 45° vial is included in the larger versions from 40 cm.

Can I set a slight pipe gradient with the 45° vial?

The vial checks a fixed 45° angle. A suitable measuring method is required for a gradient of, for example, a few per cent.

Which length is suitable for door frames?

A longer spirit level can cover a larger part of the frame. Choose a length that allows the measuring edge to sit cleanly at the required points while fitting in the work area.

How can I recognise an unreliable reading?

Check that the contact surface is clean and perform a reversal test at the same point. If the spirit level shows a different position after turning it around, resolve the cause before continuing.
