This NEO Tools thread seal tape is made from PTFE and is wound onto suitable male threads. The pack contains five rolls with 10 m of tape each. Each roll is 12 mm wide and 0.075 mm thick.

How to wind thread seal tape correctly

Clean the thread and wind the tape tightly onto the male thread in the tightening direction. On a right-hand thread, viewed towards the end of the thread, this is clockwise. The required number of layers depends on the tape, thread and installation instructions.

PTFE for suitable threaded connections

PTFE stands for polytetrafluoroethylene. Before use, the tape and connection must be suitable for the medium, pressure and temperature. On connections with a flat gasket or O-ring, sealing is provided at the designated sealing surface.

Five rolls for workshop stock

The total length is 50 m. The individual rolls can be distributed between a tool case, workshop and service vehicle. Store the stock cleanly so that foreign particles do not enter a connection.

Frequently asked questions

How many turns do I need?

The number depends on thread size, thread clearance, tape thickness and installation instructions. A general recommendation of three to five turns is not reliable for every connection. Follow the instructions for the tape and connection.

Does thread seal tape belong on every threaded connection?

No. On connections sealed by a flat gasket, O-ring or another sealing surface, sealant does not automatically belong on the thread. First identify the type of seal used by the connection.

Can I turn back a connection that has already been assembled?

Turning it back can damage the tape seal. If the connection must be realigned, loosen it and reseal it according to the installation instructions. Then check for leaks.

Is every PTFE tape suitable for gas or drinking water?

The material name alone does not prove this. Such applications require suitable evidence for the specific tape version. This suitability is not specified for the set described here.
