The wedge-shaped steel profile forces the wood fibres apart as it is driven in. Choose between 1,500 g, 2,000 g and 2,500 g. This steel wedge requires a suitable striking tool with a hardwood or plastic striking face.

Convert impact force into spreading force

As it is driven in, the wedge-shaped profile widens the existing split and forces the wood fibres apart. With very thick or tough logs, several wedges can be used one after another or offset from each other. The tool has no handle and must therefore always be used with a separate striking tool.

Versions for different wood thicknesses

The 1,500 g version is suitable for medium-sized logs and moderately thick wood. The 2,000 g version is the versatile mid-range option, while the 2,500 g version is intended for particularly large or tough pieces of wood. Each wedge is selected separately.

Technical specifications

Tool type: Splitting wedge or splitting tool

Material: Hardened steel

Shape: Wedge-shaped, tapering to a point

Striking face: Wide, flat top

Applications: Thick logs, hardwood, forked branches and firewood

Weight options: 1,500 g, 2,000 g and 2,500 g

Use: Drive in with a suitable hardwood or plastic hammer; do not strike steel against steel

Frequently asked questions

How is the splitting wedge used?

Position the wedge at a suitable splitting point in securely supported wood.
